Treasurer, Green Oak Township
The Treasurer of Green Oak Township is an elected position as is the Supervisor and Clerk. Most of the duties for the Treasurer's position are regulated and dictated by the State of Michigan. The Township Treasurer's Statutory Duties are to collect real and personal property taxes, administer special assessment districts (S.A.D.), issue dog licenses, keep an account of township receipts (revenues) and expenditures, issue township checks, deposit township revenues in approved depositories, invest township funds in approved investment vehicles, collect delinquent personal property tax, be responsible for jeopardy assessments in collecting property tax, and to collect mobile home specific taxes. The Treasurer must post a surety bond.
In addition the Treasurer must appoint a Deputy Treasurer. The Deputy Treasurer must also be bonded. Deputy township officials are authorized to act as the elected official in the event of the official's absence, sickness, death or other disability. A deputy may not, however, vote as a member of the township board. With the official's approval and the consent of the township board, a deputy may assist the elected official at any additional times agreed to by the board and the official. Deputies are not required to be residents of the township, and may be paid compensation as determined by the township board.
CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS BY PHONE
We have made an arrangement with Point and Pay, our credit card servicing company, to use an automated phone line for people that do not have an internet connection. The payments you can make through the automated system are summer bills, winter bills, delinquent bills, water utility bills, and sewer utility bills. You will need your account number, the amount you are paying, and payment information. If needed, the township can provide the account number for your transaction. The number to call is 1-(866) 890-5763 and follow the prompts.
What's New for 2018?
Livingston County has established a new online ordering system. The system will allow real time information when looking up the status of your dog. You can either come into the Township for your license or apply for the license through the link below:

All dog licenses expire on the same month as the rabies expiration date. One and three licenses are available. Rabies vaccines can be renewed anytime in the MONTH in which it expires. Please bring proof of rabies vaccine when coming to the Township. If you order on-line, the rabies vaccine will need to be uploaded. Replacement tags are $5.00. A late fee of $20.00 will be added to the price of a dog license 30 days after the due date of a new license. There will be no refunds or prorated licenses for any reason. The fee schedule is as follows:

The County will notify you when your license is due through a postcard. Once you get the postcard, no not wait. Any licenses due at the end of the month must be purchased by the end of the month or the late fee will apply. The township has not charged the late fee in the past. However, under the new system, the late fee will be assessed since it is required by the County.
